The European Investigation Team – Mark Grover on far right

One of the advantages of being an investigation firm which conducts private investigations as well as Corporate and Insurance work is that every now and then a job comes along that you wouldn't believe - even if you saw it in a film.

A recent instruction to our Managing Director, Mark Grover, involved a client who was embezzled of $13 million dollars. The client's instructions were to locate the alleged embezzler and establish the whereabouts of the missing millions.

Unfortunately, the embezzler had a 12 month head start and had no known address but was believed to be in Eastern Europe.

Between July and December 2007 Mr Grover found himself living in Europe trying to locate the embezzler and tracking the missing millions. The investigations took more than 6 months and involved everyday support from his case manager and confidant in Melbourne, identified only as GWB, and European Private Detective, Mr. Phillips.

Nearly four months into the investigation the embezzler and the missing millions were located. One of the most complex aspects of the investigation was to now bring European law enforcement on side, in secret, to ensure the embezzler had no idea that they and most of the money had been located.

For Grover and his team, working with many international police departments was very exciting, however, before there could be any co-operation, they had to prove to all authorities involved that the money was legally his client's and that they had truly been embezzled for so much in Melbourne, Australia.

Without the support of his Melbourne and international colleagues, the seizure of the missing millions would not have been possible. There are a multitude of twists and turns from this investigation that could one day be a best seller. . . but not yet.

Not only did Mark have an amazing overseas experience but has now built a network that is available to all our clients, should the need ever arise for international investigations.
